Harry Potter Author Once Again Apologizes on Twitter!!
In past years, the author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling has apologized for the deaths of Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, and adorable Fred Weasley.
Continuing the trend, this year, on the anniversary of the ultimate Battle of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series (May 2), the writer has apologized for the death of one of the most lovable characters, who though never made it to the Battle of Hogwarts but was notable for laying down his life to save Harry and his friends, and help them escape Malfoy Manor, allowing them to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts.
The beloved character is none other than our Dobby. This year, Rowling has apologized for the death of Dobby in her Twitter account.
Dobby, the house elf appeared in five of the series’ seven volumes. The character was introduced in the volume “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, in which he warned Harry about the reopening of the secret vault under Hogwarts. Dobby got his freedom in the conclusion when Potter tricked Lucious Malfoy to free Dobby from servitude. In the rest of the series, dobby proved to be a loyal companion, who met his literary end in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where he got stabbed by Bellatrix Lestrange while trying to save Harry and his friends from the Death Eaters’ grasp.
It’s that anniversary again. This year, I apologise for killing someone who didn’t die during the #BattleofHogwarts, but who laid down his life to save the people who’d win it. I refer, of course, to Dobby the house elf.
