Meet The Baby Who Has No Sugar Diet or Carb in Her Life

Shan Cooper is a well known fitness guru from Brisbane who is a popular name on social media for promoting awareness regarding food and health. She also runs a website – “My Food Religion” in which she shares her healthy food recipes, workshops, books etc with the viewers on regular basis.

While Shan is in the news for promoting good health and diet, this time, cooper is in the news for keeping her 13 months old baby, Grace Cooper on no sugar diet or a carb in her entire life. When most adults are not able to stick to such a strict diet, Shan is making sure that her daughter has a solid foundation for better future health.

While Shan Cooper keeps her tiny tot away from added sugar, however, she makes sure that Grace eats natural sugar-rich fruits. Both mother and daughter are on a strict meat-and-vegetable diet, which is also known as Paleo Diet.

Apart from added sugar, coopers also avoid heavily processes foods, preferring to adhere to a natural diet. Shan has said publicly that she is not going to force Grace to stay on a strict diet once her daughter is old enough to know what she likes and doesn’t like. With such a controlled diet, the mother only wants to give her daughter a strong foundation for the future health of the baby.

Shan has said to the Daily Mail in an interview “If she eats a piece of bread I’m not going to have a conniption. She’s going to go to kids’ parties and eat what’s there. I’m never going to go to Grace, ‘You can’t eat anything at this party, but I packed you some kale, here you go”.

While some dietitians don’t recommend such a strict diet to be followed by the young child, Dr. Rosemary Stanton also expressed her concerns about the absence of grains in Grace’s diet. It is therefore not suggested to consider following the Paleo diet without consulting the pediatricians first.
