Meet the Real-Life Spider-Man Who Saved a Child

What will you call a man who crawled four floors in a few seconds to save a child from falling down? Of course Spider-Man.

The incident is of Paris where a real life spiderman, Mamoudou Gassama, climbed 4 floors of a building to rescue a child dangling from the balcony. In the footage below, you can see that it took only a half-minute to reach the 4-year –old and save him from falling.

When Gassama was asked about his courageous and selfless act, he said “I did not think of the floors… I did not think of the risk. I did it because it’s a child.”

Seeing the brave act of Gassama, the Mayor of the Paris, Anne Hidalgo called the 22-year-old hero “Spider-Man of the 18th” as the incident happened in the 18th arrondissement (district) of the city.

The mayor told the Guardian “He explained to me that he had arrived from Mali a few months ago, dreaming of building his life here. I told him that his heroic act is an example to all citizens and that the city of Paris will obviously be very keen to support him in his efforts to settle in France.”

When the boy was rescued, his parents were not at home. The child’s father has been held for questioning while the mother is out of Paris at present.
