Miss America 2019 Has Been Announced: Know Who Has Been Crowned This Year

The 2019 Miss America pageant had already grabbed attention of the public when in June it was announced that the participants of Miss America would not be judged on the basis of their physical appearance, the Miss America event will be considered as a competition and not a pageant, the titleholders will be called candidates instead of contestants, and the swimsuit competition will be replaced with a live interactive session of candidates with the judges. After all the controversies surrounding the competition, the winner has been finally announced. This year’s crown of Miss America has been won by none other than the Miss New York, Nia Franklin.

“I’m feeling really blessed right now. I want to thank God because without him I wouldn’t be standing here. It took a lot of perseverance to get here, and I just want to thank my beautiful family for coming, my mom and my dad, who’s a survivor of cancer, and I love him so much. I want to thank all of my sisters behind me. We’ve had a wonderful week together, and I love each and every one of you.”
