You may have seen or even commented on the “Distracted Boyfriend” meme and its different spin-offs that have been circulating on the internet over the last year. However, the internet has now found a real-life version which is going viral these days.

Trisha Penma, a 16-year-old South African was in Venice, Italy recently on holiday where her sister clicked a photo of her enjoying a gelato on one of the streets in the city.

At that time they didn’t realize that there was a guy in the background holding hand of his girlfriend (presumed) giving a high-eyebrow look the same way it is seen in the “Distracted Boyfriend” meme.

On Sunday, Penma told BuzzFeed News in a Twitter Message – “As we were walking along St. Mark’s Square we got some ice cream and my sister decided it was a good photo opportunity. She randomly snapped a couple photos of me. Later, we scrolled through the photos and noticed the couple in the background.

“We immediately noticed the similarity between the pic and the meme! We didn’t really think about it, it was the first thing that came to mind when I looked at it.”
